General:
The student is responsible for the lecture notes and reading assignments. There may be some discrepancies between the lecture notes and the text.
Note: A student who is absent is still responsible for any work assigned on the day of the absence (check the web, call/email a friend, e-mail me, see me).
Absent students must hand-in the homework, due on the day of the absence, prior to the next class.
Exam Procedure:
  • Many exams will contain two parts: a calculator and non-calculator portion
  • Exams are intended to address the major concepts and rote procedure abilities are assumed
  • An exam grade is official only after (1) a student has been given time to look over his or her exam along with the exam key and (2) his or her parent has signed the document
  • Failure to obtain parental signature by quarter’s end will result in an “incomplete” or failing grade
  • Copies of an exam and or exam key is strictly prohibited unless permission has been granted by the instructor
Exam Retakes :
  • A student must complete a retake request form in order to retake an exam
  • All retakes will occur after school on one designated date
  • At most one retake exam is permitted per quarter
  • A better failing grade will not replace another failing grade
  • Significant gains must be made in order for a retake exam to help the students score
  • In the event that a retake exam is lower than the original, the retake exam’s score will replace the original exam’s score.  However, a student is permitted cancel their retake exam at time prior to it being scored.
